Urgent Notice: Elections Postponed, Interim / Caretaker Management Committee Established

Dear Members of FEGOCOOSA,

We write to you with a strong sense of responsibility and deep concern regarding the recent abduction and kidnap of our Acting Global President, Chief Ucheoma Amechi.
The Board of Trustees has taken the following urgent measures in response to this.

1. Advisory and recommendation to the Electoral Committee to Suspend/Postpone the
   elections to the offices of the Global Executive Committee to a future date. We are
   happy to note that the Electoral Committee has heeded to our Advisory/
   recommendation. This decision allows for the Association to concentrate on a stable
   resolution of the abduction & kidnap of our acting Global President.

2. Established an Interim / Caretaker Management Committee from the current principal
   officers of the Global Executive Committee. This committee will run FEGOCOOSA’s
   affairs until further notice, as the previous extension of its tenure (which expires 24th of
   May 2026) can no longer be maintained.

The Board is actively consulting & working with family, relatives and close family friends
of our Acting Global President to secure Chief Amechi’s safe release. We will provide
updates as they become available.

We have full confidence in the Interim/ Caretaker Management Committee’s ability to
lead during this period. We ask all members to:

• remain calm and united;
• extend full cooperation to the committee;
• refrain from spreading unverified information.

We appreciate your kind understanding, patience and valued corporation. Together, we
will navigate this challenge and restore calm and normalcy to our association.
