GENERAL NOTICE OF ELECTION POSTPONEMENT

Dear Esteemed Members,

The Electoral Committee wishes to inform all members that the GEC 2026 Election previously scheduled for 24 May 2026 has been postponed until further notice.
This decision follows a formal request and recommendation from the Board of Trustees (BOT) in view of the unfortunate incidence of the abduction of our Acting Global President, Mr. Ucheoma Amechi, and the extraordinary circumstances arising from this incident. This postponement is predicated on Article 7.1.4 (K) and (L) of the Constitution of FEGOCOOSA.

The Electoral Committee recognizes the deep concern and distress this development has caused across our membership. After careful consideration of the BOT’s recommendation and the prevailing circumstances, it has been deemed appropriate to suspend the electoral process and reschedule the elections to a future date to be communicated in due course.

We believe this postponement will allow members the opportunity to focus on the ongoing efforts, prayers, and support for the safe release of our Acting Global President, while preserving the unity and stability of our Association during this challenging period.
The Electoral Committee appreciates the understanding, patience, and cooperation of all members. We encourage everyone to remain calm, united, and hopeful as we collectively navigate this difficult situation.
